EtreCheck is a free system utility program that diagnoses your computer system and produces a comprehensive diagnostic report on the current state of your PC. Similar to how PC scanners work when detecting viruses or any issues needing troubleshooting, EtreCheck creates detailed reports for you, allowing you to easily understand any of the various problems plaguing your PC. Due to its simplicity, EtreCheck reports can also be sent online if you decide to look for solutions there. Take note that this program is merely a diagnostics software—it can’t fix your issues, as its reports are for general problems rather than specific ones like for viruses only or storage space only.

EtreCheck is straightforward with its basic core features. It can detect over 50 specific problems and identifies them as either major or minor issues. The app also generates an anonymous detailed text report containing all of the problems found during the checkup. EtreCheck can detect issues, including the lack of a backup copy, failing of your hard drive, memory capacity, and low disk space. The reports also include the parts of your system that are the origin of the problems. 

Not only will EtreCheck make reports, but it can even identify adware and help you deal with them. If you avail of the Pro version of this program, you can also create a report on storage space and display it in a pie chart instead of a text diagnosis. EtreCheck has an in-app store that allows you to purchase the Power User package. This package offers more advanced features and is different from the Pro version. 

Power User provides more information, such as a daily graphical and interactive display of analytics data on your computer—although this feature requires the Pro version, as well. It can also generate step-by-step solutions to your issues in case you don’t want to post your report online. Whether you buy EtreCheck or not, though, this is still a great app to have if you want to get general PC reports.
